Every now and then, this writer will be having a conversation with someone. The talk will be good, informative, and rewarding. The suddenly, the other person will say, "Men are worthless", or something to that extent.
This writer, who is male, does understand to an extent. The media (yep, them again) has spoon fed America this garbage for the past 20-30 years, effectively poisoning an entire generation of people. As a result, these people don't know any better when they say things like this. They are just saying what they know. They bought it, believe it, and they're sticking with it.
Anyone who's every opened a history book will know that the greatness of men. The strength of every nation that has ever existed has been measured by the strength of its men. Heck, the very existence these nations is because men made it happen. It doesn't matter how they did it, they did it. In spite of all his research, this writer couldn't find one nation founded by a woman. (Please guide this writer to a source that shows otherwise.) The very power structures of these nations are put in place and maintained by men, even when a woman is running that nation.
No woman has ever walked on the moon. A woman didn't create the atomic bomb (like it or not, it was a game changer). Women didn't create the airplane. Women haven't create a single meaningful industry. Men did all of these things and more.
Don't mistake this for putting down women, because it isn't or at least it's not meant to be. There are great women who have done great things. The writer is simply stating that men aren't nearly as worthless as he's been told. What's fair is fair. Being told that you're worthless simply because you were born with a penis isn't fair.

Third Party, Please!
Well, the race for president is set. In one corner we have Mrs. Hillary Clinton. In the other corner we have Donald Trump. Umm...can we get another candidate or two.
Donald Trump is a devil, plain and simple. This writer can respect that he doesn't hide the fact that he's a devil. But that doesn't make him a less evil devil. It simply makes him an honest one.
Hillry Clinton, on the other hand is a devil who tries to hide the fact that she's a devil. She is a great speaker, or at least better than President Obama. She says all the right things, but one look at her history shows that she can't be trusted. As Bernie Sanders supporters say, she hasn't earned this writer's vote.
So where is the third party candidate? Well, hisstory shows that third parties don't do so well in the polls, but why is that? What is it about a third or fourth party that's so off-putting that anyone how runs under their banner is dead on arrival? People complain about what the Republicans and Democrats will do, so why do the American people give the not give the other guys a try.
This writer understands that the media (a lot to say about them in the future) doesn't cover these third parties as much coverage as they do the two main parties. Also, moderate candidates won't run for the third party because they won't have a snowball's chance of winning. But what makes third parties such a flop to the voting public.
Maybe third party candidates suck. Perhaps the party doesn't connect with voters for whatever reason. Maybe the voting public have all been duped into thinking there are only two candidates and except it as fact. Whatever the reason, the third party is view as more of a handicap to one of the two major parties instead of being its own group with its own values. Put simply, they are seen as pests.
This writer isn't trying to sway people to vote Republican, Democrat, or third party. This writer is simply asking where the other options are and what's wrong with them? This writer asking, after looking to the left and right, are these really are only options? Are Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton really the best people America could muster to lead itself? And if so, what does this say about America?
Until next time...

Playing the Victim...After Being the Aggressor
In the Bullies post, this writer talked about fighting a bully who became this writer's best friend. As mentioned, that incident happened right in class directly in front of the teacher. This writer remembers the bully looking at the teacher, wondering why this writer went off.
This writer also remembers what the teacher said to the bully. "That's what you get," she declared. As stated, said bully became this writer's friend, but that's beside the point. What is the point? When you do people wrong, you get what you get. When that happens, can you really expect sympathy? The answer is no.
In this writer's experience, most bullies want victims, not fights. What happens when they get the fight they weren't looking for? They suddenly play the role of victim. Unfortunately for the bully, most (intelligent) adults don't buy that crap. Everyone knows what the bully did, so nobody can really feel for sorry for it.
If the bully happens the be smaller than the person it's picking on, than it may garner some sympathy if the size differential is great enough. For the most part, though, people understand when the bully gets what it gets, regardless of size.
Being a bully is like kicking dogs. Some dogs may may take it and some dogs may whine. But eventually one of them is going to realize it has teeth and decide you need to know what they feel like. When that happens, can you really blame the dog for biting you when it was simply defending itself?

Charles Kinsey
This writer has seen it all now. Just when the public image of police across the national shouldn't be able to get lower, this happens. A man in Miami was lying on his back with his hands in the air was shot in the hand. WTF?
That man, Charles Kinsey, was fortunate to survive, but why was he shot? Unlike the Mike Brown case (where we only heard what happened) or the Eric Garner Case (Where he may have been passively resist) Charles Kinsey was on video seen complying with police. Yet they still felt he needed to be shot.
The funny thing is, the officer said the bullet was meant for a man Mr. Kinsey was taking care of. Who was this man? An autistic 26-year old armed with a toy train. Yep. A toy train caused a trained (supposedly) cop to lose his cool and shoot a man lying on his back with his hands up. (Faceplam). This writer wishes he could make something like this up.
The whole situation reeks of incompetent policing. This is what happens when you hire hair-brained morons with itchy trigger fingers. But most of all, it reeks of bull stuff. Taxpayers pay these people to serve and protect, not to shoot people who pose no threat at all. It's going to be interesting to see how the media spins this (more on them in future posts).

Bullies
What to say about bullies. They are the bane of most kids' existence. They are also bull stuff. Of course, this writer does have to tell that to anyone who's ever had one. These creatures born from iniquity exist only to spread more iniquity. They use a number of tactics to accomplish this. The effects of this mental and/or physical abuse can be damaging or even deadly to the victims.
So how does one deal with these devils? The answers to this question are often as much bull as the bullies themselves. "Tell a teacher," someone might say. "Tell your parents," another might suggest. Yet another well-meaning indivdual will tell you, "Just stay away from them." These tactics usually fail, as this writer learned as a child.
In this writer's experience a sound, old-fashioned, playground-style ass whuppin' was the best solution. That's not to say the other solutions don't work. They may actually work from time to time. This writer is only saying that this is the only option that always seemed to work. Seriously. This writer had to learn that a big, meaty fist often did what words couldn't.
Your parents may tell you to give in or learn to deal with it yourself. The teacher or principal might tell you to stop being a tattle-tell. Talking to the bully itself would only get you laughed at, which would be followed by worse treatment. Escaping does work, but eventually you'll wind up cornered. What does one do when that happens?
Understanding why the bully does what it does is the business of any adults who may care, not the victim's. As the victim, you don't what to know the bully's life story. You want him to leave you alone. A good beating sends the message, "I don't care if you're a bully, but I won't be your victim."
For those who say violence accomplishes nothing, this writer's gained his best friend by fighting a bully. It happened in the classroom, right in front of the teacher. Almost immediately after that, the bully became this writer's best friend. That fight also kept this writer from getting bullied for two years afterwards, so violence netted a double reward.
Whatever method you use, utilize it early in the game. Whether you to, run, or fight, do it as soon as you think this person will be a consistent problem. Let the bully know what he's doing is bull and that it's not going to fly with you. The goal is to stop the bullying before it gets to the point where people are winding up in the hospital or commiting suicide.
Even after all the, this writer will say that violence should be the last option. Just don't remove it as an option altogether. For this writer, the other options became viable only after the fists began to swing. Only then did the adults step in and try to mediate.

The Bus
Ah, yes, the bus. Anyone who's ever ridden one knows that it's basically toilet bowl on wheels. Fighting, cussing, yelling, drinking, the bus has it all. It's the best place to see the de-evolution of mankind, with the brain cell-killing Fox News Channel coming a close second.
A number of characters can be found on the bus. This writer has seen them all. Drunkards, weed-heads, crackheads, teenagers, all the worst humanity has to offer. One day, someone was inhaling fumes on the bus, causing the driver to stop driving and evacuate everyone. Then there's always someone trying getting on without paying, which usually results in an argument between the driver and said customer, which further results into waiting for security having to be called. This waste so much time and only serves to piss off the riders with the intellect to realize the bus isn't free.
Some buses smell bad (because of riders, perhaps?) and are messy. The writer had several near misses with garbage, almost sitting in spit one time and almost sitting on a piece of cake another. Yep. A random, unattended piece of cake. Disgusting.
Also, some drivers are royal buttholes. Some will get mad it you because THEY are late and threaten to throw you off. Who is hiring these people and paying them?
And those detours. They pop up out of nowhere, so if you aren't on you A-game, you'll miss your bus or the stop you need to get off. They add time to the commute, which could be the difference between getting to work on time or not.

Commute Killer
Final thoughts on the bus? Avoid it if you can. If you have a car, drive it. If you have a bike, ride it. Heck, if you have a cat big enough to support your body weight, ride that. Anything is better than the bus.

A Week Of Pain? Or A Week Of Bull?
President Barack Obama addressed the Dallas Police shootings recently. He said the killings were inexcusable. Make no mistake, he's right.
But where was he at when Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were gunned down. He was as quite as a mosquito taking a piss. Should those shootings have been considered inexcuseable as well.
The officers killed Mr. Sterling after, I repeat, AFTER they already had the situation under control. He was pinned down on the ground. Even if he had a gun, he was restrained and no longer a threat.
Mr. Castile was killed supposedly reaching for his wallet. This writer will say he made the mistake of declaring his weapon before moving his hands out of the officer's sight...possibly. If that's true, he shouldn't have done that, especially being a black man. But on the same token, if he was going to shoot the cop, why would he declare his weapon. Wouldn't he have just pulled out his gun and shot the officer without saying anything?
Also, in the case of Mr. Castile, there was a child in the car. What if he shot the child? Just something to think about.
And finally, in the case of the Dallas shooter, if he can shoot innocent police officers, why is George Zimmerman still walking around? He'd have been a lot easier to hit than those officers and he was proven to have done something wrong. Just saying.
Three situations, three times the bull.

4th of July Bull Stuff
Fireworks at 6 a.m. Really, people? That's what we're doing now. It's not just little whippersnappers, either. It's the M-whatever-is-the-biggest-and-loudest. This writer likes fireworks...at an appropiate time. Neighbors, huh? Bull stuff.
Anyway, a happy 4th to those who didn't wake this writer up at six in the morning.
