Third Party, Please!

Well, the race for president is set.  In one corner we have Mrs. Hillary Clinton.  In the other corner we have Donald Trump.  Umm...can we get another candidate or two.

Donald Trump is a devil, plain and simple.  This writer can respect that he doesn't hide the fact that he's a devil.  But that doesn't make him a less evil devil.  It simply makes him an honest one.

Hillry Clinton, on the other hand is a devil who tries to hide the fact that she's a devil.  She is a great speaker, or at least better than President Obama.  She says all the right things, but one look at her history shows that she can't be trusted.  As Bernie Sanders supporters say, she hasn't earned this writer's vote.

So where is the third party candidate?  Well, hisstory shows that third parties don't do so well in the polls, but why is that?  What is it about a third or fourth party that's so off-putting that anyone how runs under their banner is dead on arrival?  People complain about what the Republicans and Democrats will do, so why do the American people give the not give the other guys a try.

This writer understands that the media (a lot to say about them in the future) doesn't cover these third parties as much coverage as they do the two main parties.  Also, moderate candidates won't run for the third party because they won't have a snowball's chance of winning.  But what makes third parties such a flop to the voting public.

Maybe third party candidates suck.  Perhaps the party doesn't connect with voters for whatever reason.  Maybe the voting public have all been duped into thinking there are only two candidates and except it as fact.  Whatever the reason, the third party is view as more of a handicap to one of the two major parties instead of being its own group with its own values.  Put simply, they are seen as pests.

This writer isn't trying to sway people to vote Republican, Democrat, or third party.  This writer is simply asking where the other options are and what's wrong with them?  This writer asking, after looking to the left and right, are these really are only options?  Are Mr. Trump and Mrs. Clinton really the best people America could muster to lead itself?  And if so, what does this say about America?

Until next time...
