A number of characters can be found on the bus. This writer has seen them all. Drunkards, weed-heads, crackheads, teenagers, all the worst humanity has to offer. One day, someone was inhaling fumes on the bus, causing the driver to stop driving and evacuate everyone. Then there's always someone trying getting on without paying, which usually results in an argument between the driver and said customer, which further results into waiting for security having to be called. This waste so much time and only serves to piss off the riders with the intellect to realize the bus isn't free.
Some buses smell bad (because of riders, perhaps?) and are messy. The writer had several near misses with garbage, almost sitting in spit one time and almost sitting on a piece of cake another. Yep. A random, unattended piece of cake. Disgusting.
Also, some drivers are royal buttholes. Some will get mad it you because THEY are late and threaten to throw you off. Who is hiring these people and paying them?
And those detours. They pop up out of nowhere, so if you aren't on you A-game, you'll miss your bus or the stop you need to get off. They add time to the commute, which could be the difference between getting to work on time or not.
Commute Killer
Final thoughts on the bus? Avoid it if you can. If you have a car, drive it. If you have a bike, ride it. Heck, if you have a cat big enough to support your body weight, ride that. Anything is better than the bus.

I am actually looking forward to not having a car someday. They are expensive, even when they are already paid for. Just last month we had 3 car repairs in a week or so to the tune of 1K. My misgivings about riding the bus is I don't want to get "bugs". How likely would it be for me to bring some creatures from the bus into my house? I am talking bedbugs.
